New Music Community - Video

You may have recently seen Electronic Musician’s featured article about Orfium, the new artist-friendly cloud music service.
Orfium was created by tech-savvy musicians and music enthusiasts in response to SoundCloud’s lack of flexibility, monetization options and handling of remix licenses. While SoundCloud offers a terribly low ad-based earnings share and charges for pro account subscriptions, Orfium firmly believes that artists deserve to be in complete control of their music, keep the lion’s share of revenue and should never be charged for uploading. See the video below for more details:
Orfium operates on an 80/20 (Artist/Orfium) earnings split, maintains an open platform where it is free to upload and only makes money if artists do. Orfium gives artists the power to choose how their music is distributed including whether to offer free downloads, sell retail music directly to consumers, license music for creative projects, and monetize usage of their music on YouTube. With no long-term contacts and all services offered non-exclusively whenever possible there is no risk. Individual services can turned on or off at any time for individual tracks so that 3rd party deals artists have in place including with managers, collaborators, record labels, distributors, publishers and PROs can easily be accommodated.
At Orfium, we are problem solvers and we collaborate with all types of music professionals who want to fix the industry and help more artists make a living doing what they love. We have created accounts with special tools for managers, record labels, and distributors, and are also working on accounts for publishers and songwriters.
We are still new but have already created a feature rich platform containing all of the core functionality of a socially integrated music host, listening destination, and marketplace. That said, we still have a lot in the works and are working hard to improve the platform daily. We hope you already like what you see but also want you to know it will continue to get better!
Go ahead and give Orfium a try and start uploading today!
We are problem solvers and would love to hear your suggestions. Please drop us a line at and your feedback would be greatly appreciated.
